Jeremy Setter - Petroleum Geology

jeremy SetterJeremy has almost 30 years experience in a wide variety of petroleum geology positions covering exploration, development and operations geology. After the award of his MSc on “The Geology of the Long Island Pluton, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia”, Jeremy worked for two years in Canada as a field geologist in mineral mapping and prospecting before his first job in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum geologist in the USA. Over the succeeding 26 years Jeremy’s career has covered all aspects of petroleum geology including management positions with budget responsibilities for exploration and development drilling programmes. Key areas of experience include:

  • Production geology – including managing geological teams
  • Exploration geology – including development of prospects and technical and commercial appraisal of acreage
  • Operations geology – including managing operations in remote locations
  • Regional experience – UK (on and offshore), North America, Africa, Middle East and FSU
  • Working capability with a wide range of software packages used in the industry
  • Languages – Basic, spoken and written, French and Russian
